Fun Facts
How do I care for Gravio Wall Panels?
-
Use a hand duster or swifter to remove dust. Wipe gently with a dry or damp cloth with mild soap detergent.
What is Steel Slag?
-
Slag wool is a byproduct of the steel manufacturing process. It makes good use of unused or recycled materials that would otherwise go to waste.
-
Slag wool naturally has properties that make it non-combustible and an excellent thermal insulator.
What is Shirasu?
-
“Shirasu,” also known as volcanic ash, is a unique magma ceramic material proven to be a valuable building material. Recycling the shirasu from the Kyushu region of Japan is helping the soil regain nutrients, allowing the harvest of rice paddy fields and avoiding landslides during the rainy season.
-
When Shirasu is heated to about 1000°C.25, it transforms into hollow glass microspheres, which are called “Shirasu Balloons.” Because of the air in the hollow structure, these balloons offer excellent thermal insulation.
